Issues: Energy

The United States is blessed with a vast amount of energy resources to power our way of life. The U.S. should allow all forms of energy production and development without regulatory and financial preferences related to the environmental movement.

We must always find ways to balance our energy needs to support an expanding economy and greater prosperity with environmental impacts in order to ensure healthy communities across America and the world. We should allow the free market to determine the most viable forms of energy available to us.

The rise in private sector shale gas extraction, despite all the government regulations in place, has revealed America's true energy production capability and resulted in historic supply levels and less dependence on imports from unstable countries.

America's success has always been dependent on abundant low-cost energy, and future success will be no different. While alternative energy sources should always be pursued, carbon based energy sources will be fueling America's economy for many decades to come. The higher level of independence the U.S. can achieve the better it will be for all.

As your Congressman, I will encourage all forms of energy development, stop regulations meant to reduce fossil fuel consumption, reduce subsidies for all types of energy, and allow market forces to dictate the preferred energy source.
